Oven will not light…(stove top will light, so I do have power and gas) How do I test for a bad igniter in the oven ?
Easiest way is to use an amp clamp to measure the amp draw on one leg of the ignitor, should draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps as it glows. if you measure 3.2 amps or less, your ignitor is bad and needs replacing.
The easiest way is to check the igniter for continuity.
The following article on our forum will explain in detail how to run a continuity test using either an analog meter or a digital meter - How To Check Continuity With Ohmmeter.
The igniter is bad if the continuity test will show it is open (infinity reading).
