Temp Display 47° below actual; will not turn on

My GE refrigerator, a PSC23SGRD SS, stainless steel side by side, is having an intermittent issue. We will hear some clicking noises, going for several minutes, and the temperature displays inside will show -47 for the freezer and 7 for the refrigerator. As a result, the compressor will never turn on and everything starts to warm up.

Unplugging it for a few minutes and plugging it back in resolves it for a little while, but it’s getting worse.

What should I be looking at, please? My experience level is that of someone that can build computers from components, can do basic soldering, and knows his way around a multi-meter.

Thank you.

Peter

I’m disappointed no one responded but that’s ok. After reading through several posts, I felt reasonably comfortable that the control board was the issue. Ordered it, swapped it out, and its been running perfectly ever since.

Hope this helps someone else.

Thank you.

Peter
