about 2 months ago the alarm on my freezer started going off I noticed that the temperature had a slight rise in wasn’t cooling properly. I contacted the technician and he came out and recharged the freon. At that point he said that it shouldn’t be leaking because it’s a closed system but after nine years he said it wasn’t surprising to see a slight drop. After recharging the system it seems to be running fine with the exception the alarm keeps going off every 12 hours. Temp inside the unit is running about 4 degrees Fahrenheit.I can even get it to go into the negative digits. The trouble I’m having now is to get the damn alarm to stop going off. I’m looking for some help on how to disable the alarm.Or what else may be wrong.

Anybody out there to help.
You are probably not getting a response because nothing comes up for your model number. Please check it.
I tried here and the Sears/Kenmore site.

The false alarm is probably due to a bad control board.
If you are confident about the units performance you could disconnect the buzzer that is usually mounted on the control board.
But then you loose the alarm feature and if the freezer fails again it could be very expensive depending what is in the freezer.
Sorry I missed a digit.

Below is the control board.
It is at the back under the uit by the compressor.
Unfortunately it is no longer available.
The buzzer is the round black part withthe hole in the top.

Denman thanks for the info on the control board. Could it be a temp sensor? The unit was fine for a few weeks after I had the unit recharged. Then out of the blue it just started going off.
Could be.
Unforetrunately I cannot find any info on how to test it.
thank you for all the help
Perhaps you will want to try the following just to confirm that it is a false alarm.
Take some ice cubes and put them is a bowl in the freezer. Leave them in there for a couple days.
Then check them. If they are all frozen together you know that the freezer did get too warm inside.
