Suspension Rod and spring assembly

I have a GE prodigy washer, Model # WPSE4200A0WW. The tub was sitting very low in the washer and when the tub fill up with water it causes the pulley system and spring clip on the clutch assembly to grind against the bottom of the washer during agitation and spin cycle.

I’ve checked online posts and others recommended replacing the four suspension rods (2 yellow - front, 2 black - back. I ordered the replacement parts for my model

AP2046168 (WH16X544) Suspension rod & spring assembly (black) 2
AP2046167 (WH16X543) Suspension rod & spring assembly (yellow) 2

and replaced each of the suspension rods. I loaded the washer on its lowest water setting and again even with only water, the spring clip on the clutch pressed against the bottom of the washer. Are the replacement parts defective or is there something else going on here.

Would appreciate any help you could provide.

I think there is something else going on here, but this is one of those things you need to be looking at to see the problem.

I am wondering if something is broken in the pulley/drive system, take a look.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The pulley and drive system looks okay. Belt is fine. As the washer drains and the tub spins during the spin cycle there are no strange sounds or burning smells. The apron doesn’t look bent around the top. The suspension rods just don’t seem to be holding the weight the way they were designed to.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Tom

No good ideas here, if you think the parts are bad return them and APP will replace them. Just call them on Monday.
