The door seals on the refrigerator and the freezer of my Sub Sero side-by side are hot to the touch. Is this a problem? How can I fix?
I cannot find any info on this unit.
Often a hot frame is that the condenser coils under the unit are dirty.
Even a dirty condenser fan can cause this.
Also check the vents at the front and back of the unit are clean.
Also check that the condenser/compressor fan is running when the compressor is running.
Make sure the unit has some room behind it.
Thanks for your reply. I am wondering if there is a thermostat on the door seal heater?
Not that I know of butI have no tech info on this units.
Some units do have a switch often called an Eco or PowerSaver or something like that switch. It turns a heater in the seal frame area on/off. Take a look at the units control console.
Though it usually just warms the frame up to prevent condensation if the relative humidity is high.
The only ones I have seen are low wattage and do not have a thermostat.
