Hello, thank you for this service.
My bstove stopped working so I checked the breaker and it had been tripped. I pulled it away from the wall and unplugged it. I removed the panel on the back. I noticed that the terminal block was burnt/melted. When I tried to remove the wires broke off on the right hand side with the two black wires attached. My question is, is there a way for me to use the stove top burners until I get a replacement part. I’m on disability and won’t be able to order a new terminal block for two weeks. Thanks !
I would think it would be dangerous until its fixed right.
You are going to need a new cord, terminal block, and probably new wire and wire ends. Those wires are handling 240 volts AC at up to 50 amps.
Those connections don’t burn up unless they are loose or damaged in some way. A bad electrical connection creates resistance and resistance becomes heat, burning up the connections.
