For Frigidaire DGHS2644KF2, SY CE = communication error between the main control board and the user-interface/display board.

Since the refrigerator had SY CE, then became completely dead immediately after installing the new main board, I would not order another part yet. This family of Frigidaire controls can give exactly that symptom when the replacement board is incompatible, a connector/pin isn’t seated correctly, or communication isn’t established.

Check these in order:

  1. Verify the replacement board part number. Compare the number on the original board, replacement board, and replacement-board box. Frigidaire specifically calls out an incorrect/incompatible main board as a cause of no display/no operation after board replacement.
  2. Unplug the refrigerator and reseat every connector on the new board. Look especially for a connector shifted one position, a backed-out terminal, or an adapter harness installed incorrectly.
  3. Reinstall the old board temporarily. If the display/lights immediately return and SY CE comes back, that’s strong evidence that the new board/installation is the problem rather than incoming power.
  4. If you have a meter, check the main-board/UI circuit. The troubleshooting procedure calls for approximately 12 VDC between RED and BLK on the UI communication supply. If 12 VDC exists at the board but not at the UI, inspect the harness. If voltage reaches the UI, check continuity of the WHITE communication wire.

Most important: send me the part number printed on the OLD main board and the part number printed on the NEW board. I can check whether you received the correct replacement for DGHS2644KF2.

Also it does power back on after installing old board

Is there any other identifiers on that new board those numbers you sent don’t come back to anything. Also did you order the new board from us? Is it an OEM board? If you ordered it from us can u send your order # so I can look at your order. I suspect either you have an incorrect or defective board.

That’s the only numbers on the board, yes I did order it from you all. Order #17313922

Ok after some research I found an instruction from Marcone to order a replacement User Interface board if the new board doesn’t power on. But that board has been discontinued and is available aftermarket also since your old board powers it on and the new one doesn’t we’re going to warranty replace the board. Just call back and tell them on the phone that Jeff told them to go ahead and warranty replace it

Ok there is a change from frigidaire . They say if you have this issue with a new board not powering up you will need to order a new display board. This has been an ongoing problem. The new boards is ( Frigidaire 241973711 Refrigerator Dispenser Control Board | Genuine OEM Part ) sorry for the back and forth but this is the advisement straight from Frigidaire
