Once I have replaced this device is their anything else that I need to look for? I found it burned up because the frig was not cooling on the frig side not the freezer side.

Not a bad idea to check the compressor windings before replacing it as bad/shorted windings will just burn up the new starter.
Be sure to check the winding connectors to the compressor’s case. Usually there is a ground strap or you may have to scrape off some paint.
