Squeaky noise washing and spinning mode

Hi,

I have an Maytag Altantis Washer WAV7600AWW and since my last couple wash and it started to squeak very loud in the washing and spinning mode.

When I turn the transmission pulley counterclockwise, the shaft rotating clockwise than counterclockwise without any restriction.

When I turn the transmission pulley clockwise, it goes but nothing is moving.

I tried to make rotate the Ht Trans S casing but it bearly moved.

What part could make that sqeaking noise and what need to be done to fix that?

See attached file to hear the noise.

Thanks,

Derek

It is very hard for us to diagnose a noise without being there to hear where it is coming from. I can only suggest you operate the machine with the front panel off and see if you can determine the location. Since you have the noise in both agitation and spinning I think it is likely that the belt or motor or pump is an issue.

Problem resolve.

The repair man came and listen to the noise and knew it was from the pump. As he was to replace it, he found a bobby pins in it creating that noise. He remove it, put everthing back in and run as normal. What can a 0.03$ object can do?

Well glad you got it fixed, sorry it had to be a service call but you got out of it about as inexpensively as you could.

Thanks for the update, and good luck with your machine going forward.

Listened to the audio you included derek. It was EXACTLY like the sound i was hearing in our washer…and for good reason. Our problem too was a bobby pin in the pump!!! A quick hop over to youtube to watch a video on how to open the can up and 30 minutes later…whisper quiet. Thank you for your post Derek…GREATLY appreciated.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
