I have Maytag DWU8250 dishwasher. Clean water was found on the bottom of the dishwasher when not in use. We thought it was the pump but it throws out the wastewater after a cycle without a problem. It seems that when you turn on the kitchen faucet and shut if off, water is spurting from a small round screen on the lower left bottom side of the dishwasher causing the bottom to fill up. It is a slow drip but overnight it fills up the bottom. What could be causing this and what is this piece? It is white and round and looks like it has a screen in it. Thank you!

Sounds like the water inlet valve (Item 2 in Section 7) is not sealing correctly and needs replacing.
It doesn’t do it all the time however. If the dishwasher has a sep. valve for the water supply, how can it start to drip when I turn on and turn off the sep. kitchen faucet? That is what I don’t get.
It could be that the water pressure in the line is changing and the valve actually uses the water pressure to help it close/seal.
So if the valve is on the edge of failure then the pressure may cause it to leak.
At least that is what I think is happening.
Thank you. I’ll have all the valves replaced first and see what happens.
