Spring Replacement

My washing machine makes a load knocking sound while it is in the spin cycle. I have removed the cover and it looks like it is one of the springs that has failed.

I am debating buying the spring replacement kit and changing them out myself. I am also considering replacing the center post bearings and seals since I will have the machine apart.

My concern is that I have never worked on a washing machine before. Are there any surprises or tricks of the trade I should be aware of before replaceing the spings? Or should I leave it to the professionals?

Any advise would be great.

Thanks,
Blake

Bearings and seals never fail on this direct drive washer. If the back spring rusted through the frame, you will need to drill a new hole in the frame.
