Speed Queen front loader clicking noise

Speed Queen
Front Loader
Ticking noise- happens during both wash and spin cycles, increases in frequency with increase in rotation speed.

Hello to all,
This is a 7-8 y.o. front loader from Speed Queen (residential model).
It recently developed a ‘ticking" noise that increases in frequency directly with increase in rotation .
It sounds like a "tick’, not a bang; the machine works fine.

I am not in such great shape physically and it’s not easy for me to get on the floor (and get up from the floor), so would like to get at least some preliminary idea of a potential problem.
Thank you

Hi,

Just some ideas:

Something caught in of the basket holes or under a drum baffle.
Tub support (cannot be see unless the washer is taken apart) is cracked which can make a click like noise.
Belt coming apart (if your model has one).
Rear pulley coming loose or wobbling.

Should be worth calling someone in to check it out.

I know exactly what you mean!

Without knowing the model number, it would be likely that something fell in between the spin basket and the outer tub. If it has a belt and pulley for the drive, it could be a fray in the belt. If the model number could be provided, it would allow for a better idea of what would likely cause a tick noise.
