Someone help!please

Question is this; My dishwasher drains as it is supposed to but at times fills back up with water. I believe that this happens when the sink does not drain as fast as it should. Isn’t there some sort of valve that should stop the water from going back into the DW not matter how much water is in the sink? I also would like to know if there is a way to drain the DW without using sponges, towels etc..I’m thinking a cycle i can simply push the button or combination of buttons so the DW just drains without having to go through a wash cycle. Thanks to any help.

How and where the drain hose goes?

Gene.

gene it goes from the DW to the disposer and then out. i’ve checked lines

Looks like there is a back up from the garbage disposer.

According to the installation instructions there suppose to be an air gap on top of the sink, connected to the drain hose before it goes into a garbage disposer or the drain hose must have at least 20" high loop.

thanks Gene but since i do not have the air gap on my counter could i put on a longer drain hose from the DW to the disposer so that i can loop it?

Too add to what gene suggested, do you have a reverse osmosis at the sink?

not sure wha that it. the config is simple in that i have the drain hose going directly to the disposer. thats all. i just tried the “loop” idea and will see what happens only not sure if it is 20" as Gene suggested

Looping the drain hose should help.
Any time I install a dishwasher I always make a loop so that there is and air gap in the line.
Many times I don’t have 22" inside the cabinet.. But no problems yet..

Bosch recommended to loop the drain hose behind the dishwasher besides the in-cabinet loop.

Thanks Gene and Loginfreak. I have the loop inside the cabinet now. I put it next to the disposer. The sink has filled but no water in the DW (yet). However, I will keep my fingers crossed and if that does not work I guess I will extend the hose and make a bigger loop.

Can I extend the hose or do I have to put an entire new hose (longer) from the dishwasher out?

The best solution is to install an air gap on top of the sink. You can buy in any hardware store.

Thanks Gene but I want to try all options first because it is a granite top that i do not (if I do not have to) put holes in. i will monitor the loop i put in and see if that has worked.
