Soap dispenser latch

Hey guys, just got the new latch with the spacers, but didn’t get any instructions on where to install spacers and the ones here are too fuzzy! Where do the spacers exactly go? thanks!

robby101, would it be possible for you to take a picture where you place the spacers? the instructions are hazzy, thank you in advance.

lalberto17 and Rcuadra,
Sorry, but I’m out of town until late Sept, so can’t send a more clear image of the instructions (or snap photos of my machine) until then. In the meantime, you might be able to get a copy from Sears Parts and Service, which is where I got my copy from. (Ask for Electrolux Service Flash LN0903.)

Thanks to both of you, I really appreciate your info I will try that and go from there!!

thank you robby i can wait so far i was able to do a minor fix and it seems to work, but i will also ask sears.

thanks for the info, only place I’ve been able to find a solution. I can’t quite make out the image. I don’t know if my model is slightly different, but I can’t find the 2 screws. do you happen to have a better image or can someone tell me where to find the screws. thanks

Hello msyrjg,
Sorry to hear you are having any difficulty. I don’t have a better image than the one I posted last October. Although that image shows only one of the two screws, the other one is in the 3rd screw hole from the opposite corner. On my washer, those two screws are the only screws on the rear of the top panel and the only screws that hold the panel in place. You won’t be able slide the panel forward until you remove them both. Hope this helps.

The plastic piece you spoke of did break and the drawer does not close, but does the latch kit fix a broken drawer or keep a new one from breaking? I don’t want to buy a $100 drawer if I can just buy the $10 latch kit!

Probably only the latch itself is broken, and the latch kit will include a new one. The attached photo shows the bottom of my drawer. On it, I circled the the tip of the latch, which on my machine, had broken off. Nothing else was damaged. Installing the spacers (included in the kit) eliminates stress on the latch, and should therefore prevent the new latch from breaking.

My warranty for labor had expired; but Electrolux sent me the repair kit for free. Ask for part number 137146000.

My problem is a little different. My soap dispenser drawer was not “popping out” when I pushed the chrome button on the front, so I removed the drawer assembly and found a “plunger assembly” laying in the back of the opening. It has a spring-loaded arm in it that is held when the drawer is pushed closed and when pushed again, the arm turns a little and pushes the drawer open. Nothing appears broken on this plunger assembly…it looks like it has a few tabs on the sides that will hold it in place after being pushed into wherever it came from …but I am not sure where it came from! Nothing I can find online shows this assembly OR how to replace it. I can manually pull the drawer open and it latches closed without it…just no spring action. It is an Electrolux EWFLS70JIW0. Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Same problem here. Thanks to all the posters for help on the issue. Since they are modified parts they are manufacturer defects as far as I am concerned but they wouldn’t cover it out of warranty. The part was 8.96

My washer is model number EWFLW65HIO. I also found LN0907 Water Found on Door Ring. We have had this problem since first purchasing the washer. I also order the part for this 134638400. They charged 7.48 for this.

So not much money $23 with tax and shipping but for a washer that cost $1500+ dollars they should cover their defects.

I, too, had the soap drawer latch problem. The latch was not supposed to work according to the appliance parts listings. I was supposed to replace the entire drawer to solve the problem. I replaced the latch as suggested. And it did solve the problem!

Different material, more nylon than plastic and easy to install with all the wisdom here!

Many thanks for the previous postings!

The easiest way to fix the drawer problem is to disable the spring mechanism in the back of the drawer …it stays in if the spring doesn’t push it out and I’ve done dozens of loads you just have to now pull open the drawer instead of using the button…for the electrolux front load washing machine…mine are stacked no vibration opening drawer
