Side by Side Water Hook Up for Icemaker

I found and installed the icemaker for this unit for my Dad after years of not having one since installation.

The problem now is that I can see where to install the solenoid control valve (WR57X10051) to the back of the refrigerator. Also, there’s a fill tube at the top in the back, and it’s plugged with the “fill tube plug”, but there’s no indication of how to connect the water kit to it.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Dick

Hi, Dick.

For add on ice maker you should use the IM-6 kit. There is everything you need in this kit, including the instructions.

If it’s too late now to return the parts you most likely need a fill tube kit [PART]AP3186471[/PART]

You need to remove the plug and insert the new tube in. Then connect the water tube to the inlet water valve.

Thank you. Post the results.

Hello Dick. The ice maker kit you acquired should have come with all of the parts needed to install the ice maker. One of the parts is a water line (coiled up in the box held together with a piece of red tape). After you hook up the water valve, the water line is used to connect the output from the water valve to the fill tube. If the water line wasn’t included in the kit, the kit wasn’t complete and this should be brought to the attention of the distributor who sold you the part. If you look in the kit there should also be a installation guide which will give you detailed instructions on how to install this kit. In the beginning of the installation guide, there should be a list of parts included in the kit. I hope this information was useful. Have a great day!

Well, I guess I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started. I now need to make up the balance of the kit. I just purchased part #WR30X10093 in the first round.

Hello Dick. The water line is cheap and you can buy it seperately. Part number [AP2064543]. Have a great day!

Hi Dick. You could also get a refund on the icemaker and get this addon icemaker kit [[COLOR=#0066cc]AP4345120[/COLOR]].
