Should I replace the burner?

A while back I dropped something on the front left of my glass cooktop and it splintered. I replaced the cooktop, but not, I am pretty sure, the burners underneath. The front left burner hasn’t worked ever since. I suspect the burner itself is broken but it looks almost perfect. When I say the burner I’m referring to part #15 in the “Top/Drawer” section - Replacement parts for FRG FEF336ASK | AppliancePartsPros.com

The only blemish is a one centimeter square burn/discolored patch on the topside of the burner. The metal coil breaks for that 1 cm gap.

Is it likely that the burner needs to be replaced? Or is there anything else to test before buying the new part?

It is the coil that is the actual “element” (the part that gets hot). Any break means no power can flow through it = NO heat.
