Washer slams to a stop. Would it be the clutch assembly or is there something else I should look for?
You mean after spin stops? Brakes are grabbing. Easy solution is to get some sil-glyde lubricant. Remove washer cabinet, place a small dab of lubricant on tip of small screwdriver and get lubricant onto inside vertical surface of the brake hub. You need to place it where the two brake shoes are currently not in contact with the hub. The more difficult solution is to tear washer down to get the basket drive out to service brake hub and brake shoes. The first solution generally works well. Just use a small amount of lubricant and don’t get any into the clutch hub just below the brake hub.
