Sears Galaxy Electric dryer no heat, timer doesn't move

Not sure of my dryers age, I just took a guess.
Problem:
My dryer was working fine until a circuit tripped a couple of days ago.
My husband went out and replaced the part inside the box outside
Now my dryer will run but it does not heat up and the timer does not advance. It just sits in the same place you set it and will run all night if you let it.

What we have tried:
we took the back off the dryer and removed all the lint and dust ( very carfully)
we inspected the heating element and all the coils are in tact and are not broken.

What could be the problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

I would check the power first as the motor uses 120 volts but the heater requires the full 240 volts.

L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
