Main Symptom: Water Filter Indicator Lights Too Early

Before my father passed away, he said he had ordered an offbrand water filter but the indicator light always came back on. I checked the manual which says to use:

PurePour Water Filter PWF-1

Part# FPPWFUO1

This one is currently installed. I ordered some more but just in case, do I need to use a Samsung branded water filter? If so, I can’t find any documentation on the correct one.

I do not see the model PRFS52883AFF showing up anywhere. Is it possible that the model number is PRFS2883AFF? If it is, this would be a Frigidaire refrigerator and the Frigidaire filter FPPWFU01 would be the correct filter to use with this appliance. There is also a filter bypass for this type of filter.
