Brand: Samsung Model Number: WF405ATPAWR/AA Main Symptom: Does not spin What happens & when: Nothing particularly relevant; tumbles but won’t spin. This applies to both normal cycles as well as the spin test; it’ll move and get up to approximately 400rpm before stopping. It’ll do this perhaps… ten times? before displaying a 3E error.
Error Code (if any): 3E
Parts or tests already tried: Tried replacing main board and hall sensor; stator terminals test 13.3 ohms pairwise.
Photos / video link: Nothing relevant; can post video of whatever if helpful.
With what has been replaced and the testing you’ve done, that looks like there is too much drag when the motor tries to spin. This is usually due to the bearings in the rear tub DC97-19636A, debris between the spin basket and the tub, or damaged stator magnets.
Thanks for the reply! The drum seems to spin freely when I rotate it by hand. Do either of these videos shed any light on the issue? Of the above suggestions, it seems to me that the only one that seems to be applicable is the damaged stator magnets considering the drum seems to be spinning okay, but let me know what y’all think.
Just because the drum is spinning okay to you does not mean that it is to the machine’s parameters, so it still might be some drag on the tub from debris or bearings. You’ll need to take the rotor cover off and inspect it and the stator magnets.
