Any ideas on how to fix the finish issue
The entire front panel would need to be replaced. Is there an REV number on the model tag?
No rev number!
What caused this ? It was fine so I am not the point to replace the entire front.
I can only think of a few things. If the finish was not properly applied during manufacturing, if the panel got hot enough for the finish to start to peel, or if a paint stripper got onto it are some things that come to mind.
