Brand: Samsung Model Number: DW80R5060US Main Symptom: Code 4C What happens & when:
Error Code (if any): 4C
Parts or tests already tried: Water valve screen; new supply hose; Case Break Assembly, Dishwasher Electronic Control Board OEM

The 4C code started out as intermittent. Somewhere in any cycle, and often at the rinse stage. I’ve been trouble shooting and parts replacing for several weeks to my wit’s end!
After all the easy usual suspects, I ordered and installed a Case Break Assy. That made things WORSE!!! The D/W would not fill on any cycle!! We had to rinse out and reinstall the old Case Break Assy to get the D/W back to the intermittent but functional stage.
We ended up ordering a Control Board from ApppliancePartsPros. Now the D/W will fill and wash through any cycle, but throws the 4C frequently AT RINSE ONLY??!! How could the Samsung fill and wash through several steps and then decide that there was not enough RINSE water?? I thought water supply problems would be systemic?! PLEASE HELP!!
If I order a 2nd Case Break Assenbly from Appliance Parts Pros, and it does not fix the issue, am I allowed to return the part? I’m a senior on a fixed income, and I can’t just buy parts and stack them up in a corner if they don’t work!
As I wrote above, I DID ORDER A CASE BRAKE FROM APPLIANCE PARTS PROS AND INSTALL IT. As I wrote above: “*The D/W would then not fill on any cycle!! We had to rinse out and reinstall the old Case Break Assy to get the D/W back to the intermittent but functional stage!”

Why would you suggest that I reinstall the defective replacement part sold to us from appliance parts pro?
I thought you had said that you switched the case brake back to the original. The issue may have been both the case brake and the control board. If you took the new case brake assembly off and reinstalled the old one then try to put the other back on and see if this corrects the issue.
Ordered and installed anothernew Case Break. The D/W throws a 4C error and pumps the water back out! So, 2 replacement case breaks, and 1 control board, and hundreds of dollars for NO solution!
We will try restarting, and restarting the D/W. But we cannot understand why this issue is so hard to troubleshoot!
Feb 13th.
As stated previously, both new Case Breaks immediately fail upon installation, both with the old control board, and with a new one.
In frustration, this morning we cleaned up the old Case Break with a Water Pik and placed the old Case Break back in service. The D/W started the cycle and is proceeding. Usually it will fail 1x to 3 times, usually somewhere in the rinse cycles. Opening the door and pushing the Start button 1x to 3 times will at least get the D/W to finish.
We cannot understand why this issue is so hard to troubleshoot!
Have you checked all the wiring to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connection points and no damage to the wiring itself. At this point, this is what sounds like the issue may be.
Checked wiring yes. Structurally, the D/W has never been mishandled or abused.
It is instructive to remember that after pushing the Start button 1x to 3 times when necessary will at least get the D/W proceed at some point. Wiring in a stable appliance secured to a counter is not subject to vibration like an automobile or a clothes washer that may have an unbalanced load. An open connection would be a systemic problem.
