The defective roller that I intend to replace isn’t the OEM part. It doesn’t have the bearing. The wheel’s inner bushing is simply riding on a shaft. The roller has two washers. Should those washers be transferred on the OEM part?

What part of the drum the roller wheel should be in contact with: the felt seal or the metal surface behind it?

You would want to switch the washers over and you would also want to make sure that the rollers are on the metal behind the felt.
