Samsung Dryer DV42H5600EP/A3
Try to select Delicates, pops to Refresh. Try to select Wrinkle Away, pops to Wool.
Very Dry (dry level), High (Temp), and 50min and 60min (Time) aren’t available with any cycle selection.
Quick Dry cycle shows 40min on screen but 30min on Time
Time dry defaults to 20min but doesn’t allow for any other options (Dry level, Temp). Time button only works for 20-40). But 20 shows 20, 30 shows 40, and 40 shows 100. Will not go to 50 or 60. Rack Dry and Anti Static aren’t available in Time Dry. There is no heat when running a time dry cycle.
Eco Normal and Quick Dry allow for temp selection up to and including medium, but not high. There are no Dry Level options.
There is heat when running Normal or Heavy Duty, but can only select up to 40 minutes and the dryer cuts off after only a few minutes, especially when drying sheets. It’s impossible to do laundry!
That main control board part # DC92-01626A is not listed as compatible with this model. The control board for this model is DC92-00669W. The display control board and the thermostat that goes on the heater housing each appear to be correct.
At this point it sounds like electrical interference. That could be a low voltage DC load that has failed and is dragging on the system, wiring within the dryer, or potentially a source electrical issue.
The only 2 DC loads that I’m seeing are the thermistor on the blower housing and the moisture sensor bars on the lint filter guide. The thermistor should read about 10kΩs around 77°F, and the moisture sensor bars should read continuity if you lay a damp cloth or rag across them to form a bridge and take a reading.
After that the issue is most likely due to a wiring harness that may or may not be visibly damaged or some kind of source electrical issue. If the thermistor and the sensor bars are good, and you can’t find any visibly damaged/pinched/broken/corroded wiring, I’d suggest contacting a technician with a repair company or an electrician to test the outlet under load.
