Runs constantly and not cold enough

What happens & when: compressor runs constantly

Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: Hotpoint cta15cge (I don’t have an “L” or a “R” at the end). Compressor runs constantly. Freezer won’t go below 27F. Refrigerator won’t go below 48-50F. I have unplugged and defrosted everything. Cleaned condenser coils on the back (they were clean anyway).

I can turn compressor off with the temp control by turning it to 0. I have tested the temp control for resistance. I have full continuity, closed circuit (no resistance at all from 1-9 on the temp control). The 0 position has no continuity or resistance, open circuit.

Unit does not have evap fan, condenser fan, or your typical evap coils. It has plates in both compartments with tubes molded in. In the refrigerator there is a small heating element at the inlet at outlet tubes. Element seems to be wired into the temp control.

Based on the information provided it seems you likely have a sealed system issue (a refrigerant leak, or an inefficient compressor). The control is not turning off as the temperatures are not getting low enough. For a sealed system issue you will need an EPA-certified technician to complete these repairs.
