Roper drop in gas range igniter replacement

trying to replace igniter on top of range. wire goes down a tube. can’t figure out how to get it out to put the new one in.

Often ignitor wires are just cut and joined together again using ceramic wire nuts (which are often supplied with the replacement ignitor - see the following link).
