I have a Kenmoore Ultra Wash dishwasher model 665.15882000 about 10 years old it has touch pad controls when I try to start the wash cycle none of the touch pads work (no light comes on above selected cycle nor does the timer area light up) however their are 3 touch pads in the options area that do appear to work as the indicator light above them comes on when pressed, however since the cycle options nor start pad work washer will not start. Unit worked fine yesterday. I am thinking touch pad or fuse may be an issue. Please Help?
Thanks Jeff

I doubt it is the fuse as this would fill the whole unit.
You may want to try the following cleaning method.
If it does not work check the keypad with a meter.
If it checks out OK then it is probably the control board that is shot.
Connector Cleaning
Unplug the unit
Open it up
Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board.
Clean the edge connector.
If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive.
Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here.
Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates.
Reconnect everything and give it a try.

Greetings
Cheked the fuse, ok, checked flex circuit, no problems, ordered the control board, received today shut down the power installed, and powered up with same results, the three options lights are the only functioning options on the touch pad. I am wondering where to look next? I am wondering if there is a reset function or perhaps the unit drain is clooged or a sensor somewhere is malfunctioning causing an override which will not allow any start options to be engaged? Any thoughts?
Thanks
Jeff

Did you check this with a meter?

Which 3 options seem to be working?

This has me stumped

Usually removing power from the unit for a while will reset it

Only thing I can think of is to check the devices for resisteanc to see if they are in spec. Perhaps one of them is drawing down the boards power supply causing a problem but it is strange that you see the same fault as usually it would vary if a supply is a little low.
