while making repairs to dishwasher due to rodents eating thru hoses, we ordered a new sump gasket as well.
can anyone provide me with step by step photos or directions on how to insert the gasket onto sump to be certain that it is sealed and no water should leak.
Be sure to clean the lip on the tub of any calcium residue.
Also a light coating of lithium grease on the gasket helps, there wil bee less chance of it kinking/stretching if you have to rotate the ump when installing.
You may have just knocked a wire loose/off.
Check that both wires are attached to the water valve and the overflow switch.
Check that the float in the tub is in the down position so that the overflow switch is activated.
If the wiring is OK.
Check for 120 volts across the valve when it should be filling.
If there is 120 volts across the fill valve then either the fill valve needs replacing or it’s filter needs cleaning.
Could be that some crud was knocked off the inside of the hot water line while you were working on it.
There is a screen filter built into the input side of the valve. Remove the valve from the unit and check/clean the screen filter.
Do not permanently remove the screen filter from the valve as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood.
If the screen is clean then I would replace the water valve.
If there is no voltage check across the valve/overflow switch combo.
If there is no voltage there then remove the door’s inner panel, perhaps a wire has come off at the timer.
