Replacing Lid Switch On Whirlpool Top Load

Ok, determined it was the Lid switch the other day, ordered it and it arrived in a few days GREAT SERVICE!! Now I tried to pry up the lid top by inserting a screwdrived in the front lid. Didn’t seem to want to pop up. I don’t want to damage the lid. So what is this OLD MAN doing wrong please???
thank you John

I still need some expert to assist me on getting the lid switch replaced. How does a person raise the top of the washer. Does it have to keepers that just need to be poped or what???
Thanks for helping John

The top does not pop on this puppy, instead you remove the outer case. How? Check it out you remove the screws holding down the control panel on top and it flips upYou then unplug the lid switch as shown and pop them S clips. This will allow ya to tip the case forward and remove it. Then that part will be easy as pie to get to and replace. On the next page I will show you the diagram of case removal.

This is a diagram of how this washer breaks down. In the future the other things that can fail are the Dogs the coupling and the pump all are easy as pie to fix. Trust me

I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but a larger picture would be much more helpful. this picture is very valuable for me.

im having the same problem, the diagram showing how to remove the cabnet is very tiny.
when i blow it up it distorts the writing and pictures .
