Replacing Igniter

I received a new igniter today part # WB13K21 and I can not tell if it is the wrong igniter or if it has a mfg defect. The two plugs will not connect as it seems that both plug halves have female prongs. Does this make sense? I would rather not cut the plugs off as the wiring isn’t that long and I don’t want to mess anything up to the point that it can’t be fixed. Would much rather be able to plug them up, bolt onto the burner and close this thing up.

Any ideas about the plugs both being female?

Nobody can tell me if replacement igniter part # WB13K21 is a direct replacement for a hotpoint Model Number: RGB526PEA1WH?

I was told by customer service that this was the technical helpdesk for appliancepartspros.com and I would receive help through here with my purchase.

The lack of responses to my original question got my brain going and I figured that if the old plug worked, why not cut it off the new igniter and wire nut it to the old plug and voila… Works perfectly.
