Replacing Dryer Timer

The timer on my dryer needs replaced. I have the correct part on order. When I tried to unplug the wires from the old timer, they seem to very tight and difficult to pull off. I don’t want to break any of the nylon that holds the prongs. Any suggestions, or do I just try to jerk them all off and hope for the best?

Do not jerk them off.
Get a flat screwdriver and place it between the timer body and the connector.
Then twist the driver so you force the connector back off the timer connector.
You may have to work back and forth between each side of the connector till it moves back enough to come off easy.

PS: Be sure to make yourself a diagram of where the wires connect to the timer so you get them installed correctly on the new timer.
