Good afternoon!
My dryer stopped turning, and after opening it up noticed that the belt had broken. I ordered a replacement belt (WE12X82P), and got it over the drum. When I put the belt over the motor and the tension pulley, there is still a lot of slack. Its almost as if there needs to be spring pulling the tension pulley down, but i don’t see the remains of one in the dryer, or see it in any of the parts lists or diagrams… I’ve attached a picture: any ideas?
Thanks!

OK, after comparing the picture i took with several others online, i realized that i had to pull the tension pully down / to the left, and then thread the back of the cable over that. This provides the neccesary tension…
Thanks all!

will you please post a pic of the repaired pully belt system so I can see what to do? (I have the same problem…)
In case dbiggins does not get back to you.
Here are some example belt diagrams.

There is one for this type of unit.
Anyways, with the belt out of the way, pull the idler pulley down and to the left.
Put the belt onto the motor pulley and then carefully let the idler back so it rides on the the left hand side belt back.
