Brand: GE
Model Number: GTW840CSN0WS
Main Symptom: No response from contorls
What happens & when: We had been gone a couple of days and upon return noticed all lights on the machine were flashing along with several GFI circuits in the house were tripped. We suspected a possible power surge while we were gone. I replaced the main board and the washer worked perfect for 4 loads then the display went dark and nothing worked. I replaced the board again, checking and double checking all wire connections in relation to the pictures I had taken prior to the first replacement. I followed the instructions on the card enclosed with the board and downloaded the instruction sheet, to select the personality number etc. It washed one load completely, then the display went dak. Nothing worked to restart it. after unplugging the machine from power for a minute or more, the lights blinked one time briefly upon plugging it back in. after about 30 seconds the pump will start and run for several minutes, even though there is no water in it. I poured a gallon of water in while the pump was running and it pumped it out. I tried the Field service mode entry but there is no response. pressing the power or start button has no effect on the pump.
