I replace the start device (W10197427) but still have no fan/comp. I can’t find a wiring diagram. What’s next? All other electronics seem to function like the ice machine, lights, etc. Is there a reset switch somewhere?
Unplug the refrigerator. Remove the wires from the thermostat (#9 on the diagram) and connect them together. Make sure they are not touching any metal parts. Plug the refrigerator back and see if the compressor and fans will start.
If they will, replace the thermostat.
If they will not, replace the Adaptive Defrost Control (#6 on the diagram).
Good call, Gene! The compressor kicked on when I crossed the two wires so I replaced the thermostat. Now I can hear the compressor and the fan going, but it is not getting the fridge cold. Could it need a shot of freon? This unit was in a garage for a year since it stopped working a 9 months ago.
I just read on another thread if the fridge was moved/tilted, to let it sit for 24 hours then to plug it in. I’ll do that. Anything else?

Remove the rear panel inside the freezer and check how the evaporator coils are covered with snow. Normally it suppose to be covered with a thin snow for about 100% coils. Post the results.
Hey Gene,
I replugged it in after it sat for 24 hours and there is NO frost! Coils are silver and dry as can be! I’m not willing to give up! I used to fix those old crazy player pianos, so I am ready to get this thing working, also.
He says the filter is clogged and it needs to be replaced and all the freon sucked out and put back in. $250? That sounds awful steep for an hours worth of work. A new one at costco is 750!
