Replaced Control Board not Freezing

Frigidaire Upright Model: FFU14F7HBF
Hello, I recently experience my freezer not freezing and getting strange error codes. The freeze light would flicker and then stop working. I could unplug and plug back in several times to get it to start working again. Finally, it would not come back to life.

I went ahead and ordered/replaced the controller board (Part #: 297366301). When I plugged it in, freezer came on, but does not freeze. I’m not getting any funky error codes. However it does say High Temp and sits at around 63 deg f. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Is the evaporator/freezer fan running?
If not check to see if it is getting 120 volts across it.

If fan runs check if the compressor is on.
You can usually hear it but also should be able to feel it vibrating.

If the compressor is on check the evaporator coils.
If they only have frost in one area, usually where the freon enters the coils then it is probably a sealed system problem and not worth fixingdue to the cost.

Thank you for the reply…

Yes, the evaporator/freezer fan is running. I’m not sure if the compressor is coming on. I can hear a click that sounds like a relay engaging followed by slight vibration in the compressor. Although the compressor is making a gurgling sound like it wants to come on. Then a click (relay) and then nothing from the compressor. The tank gets warm/hot to the touch.

I removed the panel to take a look at the coils and there was a little bit of frost where the Freon enters the coils.

What is the estimated cost for repairing a sealed system problem?

Again, thank you very much for your help.

Depends where you are but I would say $500.00 plus.
