Replace Water Dispenser Reservoir

The GE refrigerator’s motherboard went bad, which caused the fan in the refrigerator to stop working, which then caused the water tank in the refrigerator to freeze up. It now has a leak and needs to be replaced.

How difficult is this to do. I have located the part (#WR17X11440), which has hoses that run to the back of the unit, I’m assuming. Before I get into replacing the $20 part, is this a fairly easy task?

Appreciate any expert advise on this.

Real easy to change. to make it even easier at the tank you see the 2 lines running down the right side then through the bottom of the refer, you can cut those lines about 6 inches above the grommets and use these Part Details - GEH 5/16 control unit, part number: WR02X10471 to connect the new tank to the lines you just cut.

Thanks for the help. I ordered the parts.

I pulled the unit away from the wall and it looks like all the hose run across the back of the unit, up, down, every which way, to the valve at the bottom of the unit.

Actually from the tank, one line runs to the freezer door, and the other runs to the water valve.
