Hello! The ceramic smooth-top surface of our Amana range (AER5735QAQ) was cracked accidentally last week. I ordered a new ‘top assembly’ (ceramic smooth-top surface pre-mounted in its metal frame) and it arrived today. My problem is that the new part did not ship with any type of installation instructions. I’m pretty sure I can replace this part myself, but I have no idea where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Open the oven door and remove the screws securing the maintop to the oven chassis, located on the out side edges of the maintop.
Raise the front edge of the maintop and pull forward approximately 6".
Disconnect the wire terminal plugs from the maintop assembly.
Lift the maintop assembly from the oven chassis.
