I just got my new replacement fridge today. My old GE one broke down after 5 yrs of service (warranty replacement). I was told by the salesman that it was possible to remove the ice maker from the fridge and that there should be instructions. I can’t seem to find it. In my old fridge the original owners had the ice maker removed as well.
I need to remove it to make space for freezer items I don’t have a water line to my fridge. The nearest is ten feet away on the opposite side of the kitchen. I’ve lived without an ice maker for 5 years, I need freezer space more to store my infant’s milk.
The ice maker has a modular plug that connects to the back of the fridge. I think that’s all I need to remove. However, I don’t have anything to cover up the plug ( nothing but the manual was provided).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
