Removing a fan blade on a blower

I’m trying to remove the fan blade on the blower. I suspect it is held by a pressure fitting (and possibly a spring clip) and I am guessing that I just have to pry the blade up off the motor shaft, but if it is something else, I am afraid that will break the blade and cause more damage. At first I thought it might be treaded, but I tried locking the motor and turning the blade (both left and right) with no luck. It may be stuck and I have no way to tell.

On that type of fan, if you try tp pry it, it will break and need replacement anyway.
Whirlpool suggests a hole saw and a pliers to get the remainder off the shaft.
Why are you needing to take the fan off?
