To remove the front control panel on a GE GGS500SV1SS range:

  1. Disconnect power to the range and shut off the gas supply if you’ll be pulling it away from the wall.

  2. Pull the range forward enough to access the back of the control console.

  3. Remove the rear console cover by taking out the screws securing it.

  4. Pull off all burner control knobs from the front of the panel.

  5. Take a quick photo of the wiring before disconnecting any connectors.

  6. Remove the screws holding the control panel to the console frame. These are typically accessed from the back side of the console.

  7. Carefully pull the control panel forward and lift it away.

A tip: Keep the screws organized as you go—it makes reassembly much easier.
