Remove Cabinet Kenmore Washer Mod. 110-15942401

I believe my pump is leaking and went to replace but I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to get the cabinet (outer cover) off. I’ve reviewed many of these threads and they talk about the screws on control console and or they may be hidden behind plastic covers. I have neither on this machine. Is it a newer model with a different set up to remove the cabinet? I’ve tried everything I can see without starting to break things. There do appear to be some plastic hinges on the back side that seem to hold the panel but I can’t see how to get that panel loose. Is that the first step in repairing a pump on this model??

Thanks,

Scott

if its the newer style there are no screws to lift up control panel.there are hidden clips under panel on left +right side, i use aputty knife to push +lift. a real pain. then there is brass coloured long clips to be pulled up with screwdriver under clips .then remove wire harness, +pull shell forward +off. feel under pump to see if it wet, that means leak +replace pump

Mister Fixall,

Thanks a bunch, that was the trick. Actually the putty knife under the sides worked fairly easy once I knew where to pry it up at. I had tried that earlier but it sure seemed like something was going to break.
I got the pump on and looks like everything is set to go. I decided to hook up the water in the AM and will test out my work then. If all checks out I should be good to go.
This site is awesome. I was ready to give up and call a repair man in the AM but once you got me going it only took a few minutes to change things out. Also thanks for the quick response.

Thanks again

Works great, thanks again for helping me out and making it a simple fix. Can’t believe the pump went out in only 3 years but I guess that is another story.

See attached picture for detail of console and clip to pry with putty knife. One on left and right side.
