Can’t tell if the part pops out or is screwed in from the back.
Issue having is that the dryer does not always turn off when clothes are dry in automatic cycle. The dryer (digital) timer displays 18 minutes and keeps drying. Timed cycle works.
Suspect something with moisture sensor. However cleaned it, but have the issue on and off. Welcome repair information help.
Thank you for the Tech Sheet. Ran most tests and passed. Been using dryer since I asked the question. Sometimes the timer stops on 18 minutes and will continue to dry forever if don’t cancel. My wife complained that in the last few weeks some loads must be repeated because didn’t dry. Tonight I got around to pulling out the dryer and ran additional tests on the tech sheet. The temperatures are correct, with the heater cycling on and off. Pulled the harness plug off of the control board which has the moisture sensor wires. Measured between the yellow\red wire and black wire next to it. Got continuity when wet the moisture sensor. Are these the correct wires to measure? When dried the sensor and press against it got intermittent continuity. Will repeat this test tomorrow to confirm.
I would clean the vent line all the way trough the outlet. An obstructed vent will cause many different problems like longer time to dry and many others. It is recommended by all manufacturer to clean it and dryer inside every other year.
Gene,
I found the cause of the problem with the dryer not stopping. Turned out that the moisture sensor was not defective. But was being shorted. When opened back of dryer to get to the sensor saw a dine coin sticking out from the drum and laying across the terminals of the moisture sensor. So this was shorting out the sensor and making the control module think the clothes were still wet. Why the digital timer would stop at 18 minutes and keep drying can’t figure. Must have been programmed that way. It also explains why it didn’t happen with every load. The dine would move.
So now my wife is not getting a new dryer, but we saved some money.
Thanks for all your help and sending me the instructions.
