Refrigerator not getting cold

I hear my refridgerator blowing but it is not getting my food items frozen nor cold. Can someone help me. I was told that it maybe stuck in defrost.

When the ice box goes into defrost then the compressor and fans stop. The heaters come on and the defrost thermostat kicks in. So if the ice box was stuck in defrost then nothing would happen. No compressor or fans only the light bulb will work or maybe the dispenser etc. So you may have something as simple as dirty coils to the more provocative fried relay on the compressor. Unplug the ice box and check the relay. Shake it. It should make a thunka thunka sound. If it sounds like a salt shaker or if tiny pieces of junk are falling out of it Or if it smells all burnt then it needs replacing. I recommentd you replace it with the original relay but if that ain’t posible you can purchase an all in one universal hard start.
