Refrigerator not cooling properly, freezer is fine

Brand:Kenmore Pro
**Model Number:**401.40483800
Main Symptom: Refrigerator Fan is making noise possibly hitting ice on fridge evaporator
Have had four different techs work on the fridge with the following components replaced: control board, temp sensor, evap fan motor, fresh food fan, air damper yet problem continues. Once the fridge is defrosted with steamer, the problem will go away for about two weeks before returning. Freezer and ice maker work fine as does the bottom chiller drawer

Although this is a Kenmore branded fridge, it is actually a Samsung fridge RS27FDBTNSR/AA-00. Neither Sears or Samsung offer any help.

Have read on other sources that adding an additional heating element to the piping going into the fridge evaporator will solve the problem but don’t know.

Appreciate any help or guidance from anyone that has experience on this model fridge.

Thanks in advance.

So with what has been replaced and the issue still going on, check the defrost bi-metal and the heater. These are the last 2 things that would cause this. If the bi-metal is good then the heater would be the issue and would need to replace the evaporator as it is the only way to get it.

Thanks. I have both the bi metal and heater on order just waiting for them to arrive. Thanks again for your input as you have confirmed what I thought the next steps should be.

To close this out. What I found is that this particular fridge has two defrost sensors in the refrigerator compartment. One is in the compartment, the other located in/on the refrigerator evaporator coils. The one on the evap had improper readings. I replaced both sensors and the fridge has been working fine for the past three weeks. Hope that my adventures will help someone else in the future.
