Refrigerator is not starting up

I received a small refrigerator from my parents and when I plug it in it does not work. I checked the outlets and the dial inside the refrigerator. I checked behind the refrigerator as well.

Could it be the start relay? When I plug it in there is no noise at all.

Thanks

Here are your parts

I cannot find any tech info on this unit.

Yes it could be the start relay.

I would unplug the unit
Then disconnect the two wires at the control thermostat.
Short them together. Make sure they cannot short to anything else.
Then plug the unit in.
If it fires up then you have a thermostat problem.

You could also check if there is power to the compressor/relay.

Whichever is the easiest.

Below is a good site with fridge info.

I tried a relay and that was not the problem. So how do I test the thermostat? I am not sure which wires I need to connect to test? Are the wires I need to connect the wires in the temp. control housing?

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I was at the lake.

The thermostat is the device that is controlled by the knob (item 15) in the parts.
There should just be two wires going to it.

No problem…Hope you had a good time at the lake.

There seems to be 3 wires. White, Black and Green. What do I need to do to test it?

Thanks

Unplug the unit.
Short together the white and black.

The green is probably just a ground wire (attached to the thermostat case).
Check this as I cannot get a wiring diagram and therefore cannot confirm this.

Then plug the unit in to see if it starts.

That was it. Now I just need to find a thermostat. That #15 is just the knob.

Thanks

Yes 15 is just the knob.

Give the parts peple a call as they have access to more info than what comes up on the site.
