**Model Number:**GI6SDXXY02 Main Symptom: Water dispenser takes about 35 seconds to fill a drinking glass. What happens & when:
I have tried various filters, checked water flow into the refrigerator, and flow at the door hinge before dispenser (slow there too).
I ordered a new filter head and it came with a bypass valve. I installed the bypass valve and am getting no water at all coming out. It just makes a sound, but but not a drop. What does this mean? What is the next step? I don’t want to install the filter head if it is not the problem.
How long did you try to run the water at the dispenser for. You have to purge any air out of the lines after replacing the filter head. If you did this for several minutes then it would likely be that the filter housing may be faulty or the water valve is defective.
I did not replace the filter head yet. All I did was put a bypass in there after removing the filter. I thought that this was a diagnostic step to tell you if the filter head was bad vs if the valve solenoid part was bad.
Can you advise on what it means to just have the bypass plug on there and get no water?
