Pump and Motor Assembly

Machine cleans dishes good. Motor got progressively loader and when I looked under the machine it was dripping water where the motor and pump connect. Also, a “sandy” material was on the floor under the machine when I pulled it out.

I took it apart and order parts that I thought I needed last night but as I read some to the postings here, I want to make sure I ordered the correct parts.

One posting sounds alot like the problems I have but the adviser said the motor probably was ok. How can I tell?

If the dishwasher was making allot of noise when in use, and you found evidence of water leaking, your motor is bad. These units would become damaged due to something hard getting into the sump area and contacting the chopper assembly. Often times, you will find something inside the sump that was causing the noise, but if there is water leaking, the motor shaft seal has most likely failed and the motor probably has started to rust.
