The PTC starter in my Kenmore refrigerator, model 795.75196400 just died. A replacement from Sears are no longer available. The part is a three terminal part labeled 8EA4B3. Only two of the terminals are connected. The third is unused. According to http://rc.danfoss.com/TechnicalInfo/literature/manuals/06/115v_ptc-type_klixon_03-2004_ct31c102.pdf 8EA14C3 is a replacement. AppliancePartsPros indicates that the PTC starter LG 6748JA3001A (part AP4857702) would work for my refrigerator, and also refrigerators LG LRTB2023BS and LG LRTPC1831T. Repair Clinc confirms but AP4857702 is also unavailable.
Parts Store indicates that 6748C0004D is a substitute for 6748JA3001A which would mean that it should work for the cited LG refrigerators. This part is widely available. However I cannot find anyone saying that 6748C0004D is compatible with Kenmore 795.75196400, so I am not sure.
Did you note which fridg wires went to which ptc device terminal? If so, I would use the GE ptc device, cheaper and much more reliable, just wire it up per the old one.

I noted the original wiring when I removed the original 8EA4B3 PTC. As you suggested I reused the same wiring pattern with the new GE WR07X10051 PTC. I installed it and it is working great. Thanks for the help!
For reference I noted the wiring pattern. When mounted on the compressor and looking at the PTC relay, pin 3 is on the bottom right and connected to an orange wire; pin 2 is in the bottom left connected to a blue wire.
Very good work, as I said before, you must wire it up the same as the old device or you will burn out the start winding. Thousands of customers use this ptc device when it is listed as a direct replacement with no problem as long as they wire it the same as the old one.

Something that got missed here is the E8A4B3 has 3 connectors to wires (as well as the 2 to the compressor.) The GE part only has 2 wiring connectors that are located opposite the location of the connectors to the compressor. I ordered the GE part to replace the other in my Whirlpool frig only to find out it couldn’t work. The local store suggested and I bought a $30 universal replacement kit (Supco RCO410) that replaced all 3…relay, overload and capacitor. It went in easy & started right up with no issues…yet…after 2 hours. The part seems to get great reviews except when another brand gets shipped instead of Supco. It has 3 connections to the compressor and 2 to wires. By the way, if the connectors on the compressor make a right side up V (as opposed to an upside down V), left to right is run, common and start. The RCO410 instructions doesn’t clarify that.
It is best to use the WR07X10051 ptc device, but you will have to splice in the run capacitor as there are not enough spade terminals on it.
The universal device you used will provide poor overcurrent protection and no thermal protection to the compressor.
If you still use it, add a 1000 joule surge protector to the fridg outlet.
