Panasonic microwave resets after a few seconds on 'sensor cook'

My Panasonic over-the-range microwave resets after about 5 seconds on ‘sensor cook’. Display says ‘refer to operating instructions before use’ and clock display changes to " : ".
Setting a cook time manually works fine. It’s only during the sensor cook that it resets.
