I have a Maytag MSE860FARS dishwasher about 6 years old. All working ok until…
It has stopped working:
- when you turn it on at the socket;
- the panel lights up normally;
- the drainage pump begins to pump out any remaining water from the bottom of the machine;
- the pump continues to pump and the display panel reads ‘overfilling’
The User Manual Download your MAYTAG MSE 860 FARS user guide or user manual says ‘call a service engineer’. This sounds and expensive option.
A good friend and I have had a good look at this.
The sump does not have any water in it, and there is a float (right at the bottom in the sump) that seems to working ok (you can hear the microswitch click as you wiggle it up and down).
If I pour some water into the machine the pump gets rid of it fine, but just continues to pump and shows ‘overfilling’.
I cannot see any other ‘float switch’ inside the wash area at the bottom of the machine.
It looks like either there is another float switch that has got stuck, or there is some reset needed.
I am most grateful for any help. Am I throwing good money after bad?
Thanks
